Carey's Story
Dear Angie and Sue,
I'm writing in regards to the Homes of Hope project. I just wanted to let you know how much we have been blessed by the organization and it's wonderful team.
My husband and I excitedly applied to do foster/adopt care one year ago in May. We filled out the application, did our Pride training the same weekend and quickly began doing the neccassary requirements for our home inspection. Unfortunately, things slowed down quite a bit after that, due to a gap in communications in liscensing. Our desire to help the children was still very strong, but we started getting very dissapointed and discouraged. If it was not for the loving and encouraging team at Homes of Hope, especially Angie and Jay, I don't think we could've endured the year and a half that it took us to get liscensed. The love, support and encouragement was so helpful, just when we needed it the most. We have gone to all the monthly support meetings and have really benefited from them. We have also really enjoyed and learned alot from the training courses that the project has offered. The training courses have been very informative and helpful, as well as the library of resources that is now available to all families.
Homes of Hope project has enabled many families to expand their homes to help more children or to better care for the ones they already have. We appreciate the support very much and are thrilled to see the community joining together to help, love and care for the children of our community. These children have been such a blessing to us and due to the homes of hope project support, we are able to reach out to even more children that are in need.
I am very happy to announce that, with the love and support of our friends at homes of hope, we hung in there during the trying times, and we have been very blessed. We are now the very proud parents to be of a beautiful 10 month old daughter, that we are adopting soon.
Homes of Hope has certainly blessed us, along with many other families, and in return, these families have been able to pay it forward by opening their homes and hearts to the wonderful children of our community.
