About the Homes of Hope Project:

Homes of Hope is a family project for Asotin and Garfield Counties in Washington State to help address the cycle of child neglect and abuse by helping to strengthen ongoing services through training and encouraging increased community support.

The Homes of Hope project is a partnership between Families for Kids, Foster Parents of Asotin and Garfield Counties, the Department of Children and Family Services and Asotin and Garfield Community Network.

Goals for Homes of Hope:
  • Increase recruitment and retention of foster families.
  • Increase community foster care awareness and involvement.
  • Increase trainings and utilization of resources.
  • Encourage, train and mentor biological families working towards reunification.
Outcome of Homes of Hope:
  • Foster children will be matched with the best family to meet his or her needs.
  • Foster families will be better equipped physically, mentally and emotionally to care for children with difficult needs.
  • Reduce the number of moves a child may have within the foster care system.
  • Increase the number of sibling groups staying together.
  • Reunited families will be surrounded by a strong community support system.

The Homes of Hope project is funded by a grant from the Asotin Garfield Community Network. This website's purpose is to raise awareness of the foster care situation in Asotin and Garfield Counties and provide connections for people wanting to help their community.
